19 — The world caught only a few glimpses of her as
she ducked the white-hot Kennedy spotlight, but today Carolyn Bessette Kennedy
is being remembered as a warm and trusting friend, sister, daughter and wife.
Sometimes called “the beautiful and brainy Queen of Camelot,” those who knew Bessette Kennedy say she was a young woman with poise and grace, and shared many characteristics with her famous mother-in-law, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
“She is very good at making people feel they are
special and important, and largely because she means it,” JFK Jr. pal John
Perry Barlow said. “It was the same thing with Jackie.”
